Email Addresses Have Changed

Individual email addresses have changed
As a result of the agency consolidations that took effect on October 1, 2011, all former DOP employees have new email addresses. An employee’s new email will use one of the following formats, depending on the agency where the employee is now located:

  • Office of the State Human Resources Director firstname.lastname@ofm.wa.gov
  • Department of Enterprise Services
    firstname.lastname@des.wa.gov

Group email boxes, such as servicecenter@dop.wa.gov or traininginfo@dop.wa.gov have not changed.

Don’t rely on messages being automatically forwarded
If you directly type an employee’s old email address into Outlook using one of the following formats: jane.doe@dop.wa.gov or janed@dop.wa.gov, the message will automatically forward to the new address. However, if you begin typing a name in Outlook and allow the program to automatically fill in the name – such as Doe, Jane (DOP) – that message will likely come back as undeliverable (especially for employees who are now at OFM). The same problem applies to distribution lists and listservs.

To ensure delivery of your message, we recommend that you directly type in the new email address, if you know it. Or directly type the old address in one of the two formats listed above. For those who have access to the state’s Global Address List, you can also directly select the new email off of the address list in Outlook.

If you’re still having trouble reaching one of our employees, please contact the Service Center at servicecenter@dop.wa.gov or (360) 664-6400.

We apologize for the inconvenience this change may cause. We are doing all we can to make this transition as seamless as possible for our customers, but some bumps in the road are an unfortunate reality with change of this magnitude.
